The size of a pitch will depend on the scale of the games which are to be played there. According to FA guidelines, five and six-a-side pitches need to be at least 25 metres long and 16.5 metres wide. Seven-a-side pitches must be at least 50 metres long by 30 metres wide. Full size pitches are between 90 metres and 120 metres long, and between 45 metres and 90 metres wide. As well as the size differences, there are also many other variations between pitches, such as the markings, the shape of the goals, the material of the pitch surface, and many others. As you can tell, each and every pitch is unique.
